Hoopla v. Overdrive: Overdrive was easier to search because I’ve been using it for several months. Overdrive has lots more content. Audiobooks searched: The Unspeakable (Hoopla) and Winesburg, Ohio (Overdrive).

It’s hard to remember what life was like before “social networking.” Facebook has put me in touch with many people I hadn’t seen or heard from since elementary. Reading the posts and looking at the photos of a wide variety of friends and relatives makes me feel as if I’m part of their lives across the miles. Pinterest is not only one of my favorite websites of all time but has also enabled me to cut way down on the volume of magazine clippings I keep. 🙂 I’ve never met most of the people I follow on Pinterest but our common interests link us together. No matter how foreign their location or even their language is, we have a kind of relationship.
The keyword challenge was puzzling. I never got 100% and each time I retried my percentage got lower. However,this isn’t discouraging since I knew how to find answers to reference questions before this challenge began.

Since there are 189 of them, it has taken many hours to do this . I enjoyed the ones about art and art education by D. Lu and the one by Viki about the upcoming Roald Dahl opera which I’d never heard of. The ones listing fiction read-alikes might seem redundant to someone used to searching on Novelist.
In the staff libguides under self-directed learning, the SAPL Tool Box has a link to Texas Library Association CE. There are webinars on a variety of professional topics. Last year I watched one and there were no technical difficulties like webinars usually have.
